About Us



History

The GKC Foundation is a non-profit organization which is aimed at empowering the youth and assisting the less priviledged in the society. It was founded in the year 2004 in Lagos State, Nigeria by Olowoyeye Tosin due to her intense desire of seeing every youth as a potential achiever and great leaders of tomorrow. She founded it after the completion of her B.Sc degree in 2004. She seeks to reduce the rate of criminal act amongst the youth and to raise a purpose-driven youth in a drifting society. Hence, the organization provides free Career Seminar, Guidance and Counseling Section and Skill Acquisition Programme for the less priviledged youth in the Society.

At the GKC Foundation, every youth is unique and treated thus;

Most recently, GKC Foundation was in collaboration with the African Golfers, Lokoja Kogi State, Wife of Kogi State Governor Her Excellency, Hajia Zainab Ibrahim Idris, Cosmas Okoli (CEO, MAARDEC) and Some committed Individuals towards Youth empowerment/development and improving the lives of the physically challenged in the Community. Find Published works in the Nigerian Newspapers: e.g. The PUNCH of February 8th, 2007 and The Graphic Newspaper of the February 7th-8th, 2007 edition)At present, the organization has only 3 staff with 2 Volunteers within Lagos Metropolis. We look forward to getting more committed workers on the field.

There is an open reporting system and training of volunteers/staff to ensure sustainability

Our Mission

To positively affect the lives of the less priviledged youth academically and ethically hence, reducing the rate of criminal activities in the Society.

To provide adequate vocational training hence, reducing the rate of Unemployment.

Our Vision

To raise a Purpose-driven youth in a drifting Society.

Our Team

TOSIN OLOWOYEYE -Founder

Tosin Olowoyeye was 24 when she founded the GKC Foundation in 2004. Originally from Lagos State and moved to Lokoja, Kogi State for her mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps! It was during her service year that she was able to reach out to thousand of students in their respective schools. Examples of such schools were: Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja, Muslim Community Secondary School, Lokongoma, Lokoja, Government Day Secondary School, Lokoja Government, Baptist High School, Ganaja, Lokoja, Local Government School, Kabawa, Lokoja. She speaks extensively on Career Guide, youth empowerment and development etc.

AKANDE ISREAL- An assistant

Akande Isreal is one of our assistants at the GKC Foundation, We worked together in Lokoja, Kogi state! Isreal has been of a great assistance!
