The Tiny Blood Vessels.
The time was exactly 13:0O (GMT +1) when I received a text message from a younger friend Paul (not realname). Paul, who was the Head Prefect in one of the Schools I did visit, he's faced with lots of challenges like many other youths out there who seem to be threading so lonely on life's pathway. These challenges range from Academics to Moral, Social, Physical, Financial, Family etc! And it could be heartaching especially when no one seems to care nor have a listening hear to their heartfelt cry. How I wish much more attention could be given to these young people by our Governments (in Africa) and by our so 'busy' parents. So many things are becoming frustrating especially in a Nation where poverty looms and every one is trying real hard to survive! These young ones need someone to talk to, some one who really care, Pls, do show some love to them out there.
The context of the message explains how frustrated Paul is with his academics. He's waited for 2 years to gain admission into the university, but all to no avail, until atlast he had to settle for a menial paying job. Well, for those who don't know, getting admission into any Nigerian university isn't as easy as ABC nor as cheap as possible, it's getting difficult and really challenging day by day. So is the situation with another friend i discussed with yersterday, Abigail by name. I could see some drops of tears from her eyes as she narrated her ordeal. "It's really frustrating and my parents, especially my daddy, aren't helping matters" she said. My heart really goes out to those young ones out there who are facing some difficulties or the other.
I think for us to have a great Nation, we should pay attention to these young ones. Make adequate and efficient plans towards making thier voices count, special events should be organized to bring a change in their hearts! Moreso, Guidiances and Counselling session shouldn't be overlook. Because in so doing, we shall be ridding our nation off political thugs, criminals, juvenile delinquinces et cetera.
Remember, The youths are very important segment of the society. In nation building, they cannot be neglected. They are like the tiny, unseen blood vessels hidden in the human body whose functions cannot be neglected. For the human body to be healthy and remain healthy the tiny blood vessel must be alive to its responsibilities or else the body is as good as a dead.
Let's effect the change we need in our locality. Show some love today by listening to someone out there!!
Regards.
