Juvenile Delinquencies is a massive and growing problem all over the world and it is referred to as the criminal acts performed by juveniles- persons who are (usually) under the age of eighteen and are still considered to be a minor, i.e. the criminal behaviour by children or adolescent. These acts include: drug abuse, illicit sex, cultism, school crime, internet fraud, violence etc.
Some theorists view delinquency as a function of the individual while others view it as a macro level function of society. I would rather say it's a function of both. It's true for a juvenile to have such nasty behaviour and at the same time been influenced by the society.
The best way to restore peace to young people is through the influence of good role models in the community and in families. Young ones are good observants and they easily emulate/immitate those before them. They are tender in heart and are just like the iron rod which when subjected to intensive heat can be re-molded with ease. But, thereafter, it becomes un-adjustable because ot the hardening of their mind and consciences!
Additionally, the role of parents in child training cannot be over-emphasised, It helps alot in raising godly children. This role must be respected and protected. It is the weakenng of parental bonds even more than poverty that drive young people to drug abuse. . Hence, our government should learn to give more attention to the family which is the basic unit of the society. "Parental love more than any other factor, protects the youth from the risks associated with irresponsible sex and violence".
Preventing youth violence is better off than curing its eventual consequences! Let's unite to make a difference in our community!
